On October 10th, 2025, Mr. Volker Klima, Counsellor of Food & Agricultural of the German Embassy in New-Delhi and Mr. Martin Kuntze-Fechner, Project Manager, GFA General Agent, Bilateral Cooperation Programme of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity of Germany (BMLEH) visited the AMD Project “Indo-German Cooperation on Agricultural Market Development” in Jaipur.

The day programme started early morning at the project office in Jaipur with the introduction of the programme. Later, the guests and the AMD project team visited the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) at Newai, Tonk district, which is located about 70 km south of the city Jaipur in Rajasthan. The APMC at Newai is a regulated marketplace and serving about 100000 farmers of the district/region to sell their agricultural produce. At the APMC, the delegates have been informed very nicely about APMC functions, facilities, operational procedures and schemes and the marketing support provided to the farmers.

After returning to the project office in Jaipur, the AMD Project team informed the delegates about the activities and achievements of the AMD project during the last 4 years. The guests were very impressed with the progress and results of the project. Several pilot Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO) of the three pilot States Rajasthan, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh have been successfully supported for increasing the production standards and specifically integrate into export-oriented value chains. In addition, technical dialog formats at national level and comprehensive capacity building programmes at have been designed and successfully implemented to enhance capacities of Government Institutions in the three pilot states.
