Rural Development
Agriculture and animal husbandry is embedded in rural areas and is in many countries still the core sector for development and improving living conditions. Hence Rural Development is inherently linked with and integrated in many projects carried out by ADT in the past and at present.
Capacity Building through training, workshops, coaching and demonstrations
Rural Development means first and foremost capacity building. ADT has a long and successful history of projects directly working with rural communities and farmers, farmer organisations, local and regional authorities and stakeholders . We work with people - directly, respectful, on eye-to-eye level.
Organisation Development and Institution Building
ADT has implemented numerous projects in support of EU accession countries in which EU rural development policy and programmes have been integrated into national policies and implemented jointly with national authorities.
Farming systems, land use and resources
We have sound experience in developing and implementing agro-environmental programmes adapted to the specific conditions of the respective countries and regions for preserving biodiversity, supporting traditional land cultivation schemes and improving water and soil resources management. Efficient involvement of farmers, communities and stakeholders is essential for adoption of new measures and sustainable change.
