We are currently looking for key senior expert for German-Chinese Agricultural Cooperation – Project. Starting date: 01.04.2026 Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in agronomy, agricultural economics, international business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of substantial experience managing large, complex projects, ideally in an international context.
• Comprehensive understanding of both German and Chinese agricultural sectors, including key market actors and regulatory environments.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Tasks:

• Develop and implement forward‑looking strategies to foster cross‑border agribusiness cooperation.
• Advise German stakeholders on navigating the Chinese market, including regulatory and institutional frameworks.
• Represent the project in high‑level dialogues with public and private sector leaders in both countries.
• Ensure alignment with international best practices in trade, compliance, and intercultural cooperation.

Nice to Have:

• Proven expertise in market analysis, value chain development, and business development in the agribusiness sector.
• Strong track record in strategic negotiation and building high‑level partnerships.
• Professional proficiency in German and/or Mandarin is a significant advantage.

EU-funded Project: Technical Assistance for the Implementation of the Support Project to the EU–China Agricultural Cooperation ADT Project Consulting GmbH is a German consulting firm specialising in technical assistance and advisory services in agriculture, agribusiness, veterinary and food safety, rural development, and agricultural policy. Since 1995, ADT has implemented projects for governments, public institutions, and international donors in more than 60 countries. Our key clients include the German Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH), the European Union, GIZ, FAO, World Bank, USAID, and other public donors. For an upcoming EU-funded technical assistance project supporting EU–China agricultural cooperation, we are currently looking for a Senior Expert in Agribusiness and Agricultural Markets.   Project Context and Objectives The project supports the implementation of the EU–China Agricultural Cooperation under the EU programme “Promoting EU interests and values in China and engaging China on global challenges”. The assignment aims to strengthen cooperation between the EU and China in agriculture, trade, green transition, and rural development by providing high-level technical assistance and policy advisory. Key objectives include:

• Supporting EU–China dialogue on agriculture, agribusiness, and trade
• Strengthening market access, value chains, and sustainable agrifood systems
• Promoting EU standards, best practices, and policy approaches
• Facilitating cooperation between public and private sector actors
• Contributing to green transition, food safety, and consumer protection

The project is expected to start in April 2026 with an implementation period of 36 months and is financed by the European Union (NDICI – Global Europe).   Your Profile Minimum Requirements

• University degree (Master’s or equivalent) in agricultural economics, agricultural sciences, business administration, trade, development economics, or a related field
• At least 10 years of professional experience
• Proven experience in project management, management of complex processes, and intercultural cooperation
• Close professional exposure to the German and Chinese agricultural sectors
• Excellent written and spoken English

Additional Qualifications (Asset)

• In-depth knowledge of agribusiness, agricultural value chains, and market analysis
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the agribusiness sector, preferably in international or development cooperation projects
• Experience working with public and private stakeholders
• Knowledge of the Chinese agricultural and food sector or professional experience in China or East Asia
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and strategic thinking skills
• Confident negotiation skills and experience engaging with high-level partners and institutions
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and moderation skills
• Knowledge of German is desirable
• Knowledge of Chinese (Mandarin) is a strong asset

  Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical advisory services on agribusiness, agricultural markets, and value chains in the context of EU–China cooperation
• Support the preparation and implementation of market-oriented and policy-relevant studies, analyses, and recommendations
• Contribute to the design and implementation of activities related to market access, sustainable agriculture, food safety, and green transition
• Facilitate dialogue and cooperation between EU and Chinese public institutions, private sector actors, and international stakeholders
• Support coordination of project activities and ensure coherence across technical components
• Contribute to the preparation of reports, policy briefs, and technical documents
• Represent the project in meetings, workshops, and high-level consultations
• Support knowledge sharing, communication, and visibility of EU best practices and approaches

 

GIZ Project: Advisory Support to the EU Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) and Future Skills in Agriculture for Ukraine ADT Project Consulting GmbH is an innovative and reliable German consulting firm that focuses on technical assistance and international projects in the areas of livestock, agriculture, veterinary & food safety, agribusiness and rural development. Main clients are the German Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH), EU EuropeAid and other EU programmes, GIZ, FAO, USAID, WB and other public donors as well as private organisations/companies. Project objectives The project supports Ukraine in aligning its agricultural sector with EU standards and policies, with a particular focus on:

1. Development and operationalisation of an EU-aligned Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS)
2. Strengthening agricultural policy frameworks and governance structures in line with EU requirements
3. Advisory support on EU agricultural legislation, institutional roles, and implementation mechanisms
4. Modernisation of vocational education, qualifications, and advisory services according to labour market needs
5. Capacity building of public institutions and stakeholders involved in agriculture, education, and advisory services

The assignment is expected to start in Beginning of march 2026 with an anticipated duration of approximately 9 months. The project is financed by GIZ on behalf of BMZ and EU partners. Qualifications:

• University degree (Master/Diplom) in EU Law, Public Administration or related fields
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in EU legislation, policy advisory, or regulatory alignment
• Proven experience with EU agricultural legislation, policy frameworks, and approximation processes
• Knowledge of EU Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and related regulatory instruments is an asset
• Experience in development cooperation projects, preferably in Eastern Europe or EU accession contexts
• Strong analytical, drafting, and advisory skills
• Excellent command of English (C1 level); Ukrainian language skills are an advantage
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary expert teams

Tasks:

1. Review and analyse EU legislative acts and regulatory frameworks relevant to agriculture, vocational education, and advisory systems
2. Support the development of EU-aligned legal and policy recommendations for Ukrainian counterparts
3. Advise public institutions on institutional roles, governance models, and implementation mechanisms in line with EU standards
4. Contribute to the preparation of policy notes, legal drafts, roadmaps, and strategic documents
5. Participate in expert workshops, consultations, and online advisory sessions with stakeholders
6. Support capacity-building measures for public authorities and sector institutions
7. Ensure coherence between legislative recommendations and labour market, skills, and qualification requirements

Contribute to knowledge sharing and documentation of results in coordination with the project team
