On 23 October 2026, partners, participating farms and project representatives gathered at KazAgroFarm for the closing event of the German-Kazakh cooperation project โ€œCompetence Development in Milk Production in Kazakhstanโ€ (KFM).

In their opening remarks, Vice Minister of Agriculture Berdalin Amangalyi Bisenbayuly and Rebecka Ridder, representing Germanyโ€™s Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH), recognised the projectโ€™s contribution to developing and modernising Kazakhstanโ€™s dairy sector.

๐Ÿ„ Through practical training, farm advisory services and German-Kazakh knowledge exchange, KFM helped dairy professionals strengthen their skills in herd management, feeding, animal genetics and modern milking and housing technologies.

Representatives of the pilot farms KT Mambetov and Poltavkoe described how these skills translated into improved farm performance and plans to expand their dairy herds. Three project-trained master trainers also shared how their training in Kazakhstan and Germany prepared them to provide practical advice and pass on their knowledge.

๐Ÿ… A special highlight was the presentation of a medal to long-standing Project Leader Uwe Weddige by Vice Minister Berdalin, recognising his outstanding work and sustained commitment to Kazakhstanโ€™s dairy sector.

Institutional partners, including NANOZ, Asyl Tulik and S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University (KATRU), highlighted the value of practice-oriented training and international exchange. They also expressed their interest in building on these results through future cooperation.

We thank the entire KFM team, both ministries, participating farms and all partners and supporters for seven years of productive collaboration. ๐Ÿ‘

The projectโ€™s technical and training materials will remain available on the KFM website for the next three years, ensuring that this knowledge continues to support the sectorโ€™s development.
